Position Summary

ÍÃÅ®ÀÉÖ±²¥ Bennet Street School (NBSS) seeks an accomplished, strategic, and relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as its next Chief Advancement Officer (CAO). Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key advisor to both the President and Board leadership, the CAO will lead the next chapter of philanthropic growth for one of the nation’s most distinctive and historic educational institutions.

The Chief Advancement Officer serves as NBSS’s senior fundraising leader and is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of the School’s philanthropic enterprise, including major gifts, annual giving, foundation and corporate relations, planned giving, stewardship, donor engagement, and development operations. The CAO partners closely with the President and Board of Directors to translate institutional priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities and to build and sustain meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, foundations, corporations, and community leaders. The role also plays a critical leadership function in strengthening fundraising systems, enhancing development operations, and ensuring a best-practice, data-informed, and donor-centered advancement program.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished advancement leader with significant progressive experience in fundraising, preferably within higher education, independent schools, workforce development, arts and culture, or other mission-driven nonprofit environments. Strong candidates will bring a proven record of securing and closing major gifts, leading comprehensive fundraising programs, and building high-impact relationships with donors and volunteer leaders. They will be equally comfortable setting strategy, managing complex fundraising operations, and personally engaging in cultivation and solicitation activity. Exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to inspire confidence among senior leaders, board members, and external stakeholders are essential. A collaborative, entrepreneurial approach and an appreciation for the values of craftsmanship, hands-on learning, and career education are highly valued.

Pay Range

The compensation range for this position is $120,624-180,990. In addition, NBSS offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package which includes health, dental, group life and disability insurances, a retirement plan with employer contributions, and generous time off. This is an on-site position in Boston, MA with some flexibility to accommodate occasional offsite work, especially during the summer months.

Position Summary

The Director of Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership for the School’s institutional marketing, communications, brand stewardship, and digital storytelling efforts. This role develops and implements integrated communications and marketing strategies that advance the School’s mission, visibility, enrollment goals, and institutional reputation. The Director oversees brand positioning, creative direction, media relations, enrollment marketing, publications, and digital engagement across multiple audiences and platforms. The role also manages external consultants and collaborates closely with departments across the School to support strategic communications priorities.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished marketing and communications professional with significant progressive leadership experience, preferably within higher education, nonprofit, arts, culture, or other mission-driven organizations. Strong candidates will thrive in a collaborative and close-knit environment and will have the ability to balance strategic thinking with execution in a small-team setting. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are paramount, along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse constituencies. Pay Range

Position Summary

In the Carpentry department and along with the Department Head, the Instructor is responsible for delivering the approved course curriculum to the students as well as assisting with administrative duties related to the department. The Instructor must be an accomplished carpenter and an organized and thoughtful instructor committed to high-quality work, presenting the theoretical, technical, and practical material involved in the Carpentry trade to adults of varying learning styles and experience.

The Instructor helps prepare and present instructional content using existing departmental material and curricula and creating new material. Methods of teaching in the program include lecture, demonstration, one-on-one assistance, guest presentations, multi-media demonstrations, and directed projects in the classroom, in workshops, and during site work and field trips. In addition to classroom and shop work, the class completes on-site projects such as: sheds, decks, additions, garages. These real world projects serve as examples for estimating, site preparation, and construction. The instructor will assist with evaluating student performance and be responsible for tracking student attendance. Prior teaching experience is preferred. A good work ethic and excellent communication skills are a must. Clean driving record necessary. Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) or ability to obtain one required.

In addition to teaching, the instructor is responsible for assisting with department administrative duties, ordering tools and materials, coordinating site work with clients, and maintaining a safe environment. Responsibilities also include attending faculty meetings, advisory committee meetings, required staff meetings, and after hours events such as Open House, faculty development seminars and workshops, and fundraisers. 

ÍÃÅ®ÀÉÖ±²¥ the Program

The Carpentry program teaches adults entering the trade the theory and practice of residential construction including framing floors, walls and roofs; door and window installation; interior and exterior finish; drafting; hand tool and machine use.

The class size is 26-30 students, ages 18 and older. Students come to the program with a range of woodworking/carpentry experience from very little to a moderate amount. All students have completed high school and some have college degrees. The Carpentry facility includes a large construction area, a dedicated machine shop with dust collection, tool storage, and an office for the faculty.

The daily teaching schedule is 7:30 am-4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday during the academic year (September through May). During the summers instructors are free to pursue other work. There is a two-week break at the end of December, a one-week break in March, as well as approximately ten paid holidays.

Requirements, Working Conditions, & Physical Demands

• Clean driving record
• Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) or ability to obtain one
• Five years experience working in the Carpentry field
• Prior teaching experience is a plus
• Strong and dedicated work ethic and excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs
• Able to push and pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and move around to work on construction of all kinds, as well as walk and stand for long periods
• Able to lift, to carry, or maneuver tools and materials weighing up to 50 lbs., also while climbing a ladder
• Able to move from kneeling and sitting to standing repetitively with ease
• Must be able to accomplish close work (paperwork, visual examination, detailed machine work, fitting small pieces, reading tape measures and rulers)
• Computer skills and ability to sit at a computer for periods of time a must
• Must be willing to be recorded with video/audio while teaching

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $79,000 depending upon experience. Health, retirement, and other benefits are available.

Position Summary

ÍÃÅ®ÀÉÖ±²¥ Bennet Street School seeks an Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to manage the full accounts payable cycle and process payroll. This role works closely with Finance, Human Resources, vendors, and employees to ensure accurate financial transactions, timely payroll processing, and compliance with accounting and payroll regulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments (check, ACH, and wire)
• Work with Bursar’s office to process financial aid refunds
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and annual 1099 reporting
• Administer the corporate credit card program and expense reconciliations
• Process biweekly payroll, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes
• Manage payroll deductions, taxes, retirement contributions, and garnishments
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts
• Assist with month-end close, audits, and student refund reconciliations
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate AP and payroll processes

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Three or more years of experience in accounts payable and payroll 
• Knowledge of GAAP, payroll regulations, and accounts payable practices
• Strong Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred

• Experience in higher education, independent schools, or nonprofit organizations
• QuickBooks experience
• Expensify or similar expense management software
• ADP Workforce Now
